Was really tired this morning so didn't rush out of bed and pottered this morning, booked up for a stay in Peterborough in April and the trains as well. When I was in Peterborough I saw some nice large bonsai pots at Van Hage but didn't buy them. Darren took me to Deans at lunch time and I got a couple of large ones with water trays. I will be trimming the roots of the trees again this year, and will move them into bigger pots when I do. We had a scone while we were there, Darren had the jam and cream variety and I had the cheese scone with blue cheese. Tina wasn't well last night and has not been into work today, Darren got her some medicine on the way home. Yesterday evening I finished a little cross stitch embroidery. I bought it in Peterborough and started it while sitting on the bed at the hotel! I left the needle in as it gives an idea of size, it is tiny.
The instructions on the raggy quilt said it should be washed on a 30 degree wash. So I put it in today, it is supposed to give it the raggy effect that is desired. I have it hanging on a drier now to dry naturally.
This afternoon I have spent over two hours cutting pieces for a quilt that I liked the look of in a magazine. Had to cut 100 five inch squares and 200 three inch squares plus border and sash strips. While I was cutting I was listening to Arijit Singh, the cd arrived today, I heard him when Mike and I went to Ibrahimis and the guy there wrote his name down for me, the cd arrived today.
I may start piecing together later but need a bit of a break from it at the moment.
A trip down south in April, that sounds good.
ReplyDeleteLove the little ladybird cross stitch, perfect for putting on a special card for someone.
Looking at the quilt, it doesn't look as though it had any blue bits on it, which is good! The cut edges do look more "raggy" now too. I really think that's a great quilt. I bet the new one you're cutting out for will look good too if the colours are anything to go by. You'll wear that sewing machine out!
The new one is going to be a challenge, but I like a challenge within reason!!
