A couple of days ago I was thinking that I would like to do a hanging plate at the ceramic studio. I love the film The Wizard of Oz and in particular the song Over the Rainbow. Love the original version and the one by Eva Cassidy even more. So, A plate with a rainbow seemed the right way to go. I brought a plate home yesterday and drew a design on it last night. Today, after a visit to the Craft shop I went to the studio and spent a couple of hours on the plate.
I have fetched the plate home again and some blue glaze to do the lettering and add a few bluebirds! It has been a crafty day today. Yesterday evening I did the layering and quilting on the charm pack quilt, and this morning I trimmed the edges and cut bias strips which I will join together in a bit to add the binding to the quilt. A curvy edge to this one so it will be a bit tricky!
I did actually take my crochet blanket to the craft group this afternoon, I only bring it out occasionally so it is growing very slowly!
Looking forward to Death in Paradise but sad it is the last one this time around!

  1. Lots of craft work today, you are keen! Don't you ever stop? :-) The plate is going to look nice when it's fired, and I love the quilt. The edges look great, but I bet they were a pain to do. Good job you have more patience than me!
