It has been a long and quite tiring day, Darren took me to the station in time for the 8.50 am train. Bit of a late getaway with the train from York, so was a bit later than expected in Peterborough. Mike met me and took me over to the sheltered scheme where Ruby and Emmie live. Emmine had phoned me a couple of days ago to say Ruby was in hospital so had cancelled the room there for tonight and added one at the hotel. I had lunch with Emmie and chatted to her for a while, then Mike met me again, dropped my stuff off at the hotel and then took me to the hospital. That hospital is like a huge, complicated rabbit warren! But found Ruby eventually and sat with her for a while. She had a minor stroke at the weekend but was due to be discharged today. She is 96 next week. looked quite frail when I arrived, but having company made her seem a lot better. I had my bus pass and caught a bus quite quickly back to town. I got off near the old hospital to have a bit of a walk and some fresh air. I have always liked The Sessions House building, and even now it is not in use it is still striking.
Opposite the old hospital building there was a tree unbelievably in blossom. Must have been very mild here as saw some more later this evening.
I took a picture of the cathedral from the bridge.
I made my way to the bus station and got the bus to the hotel but got off at the shops as I wanted to get a hot water bottle(long story). Got a silly kids one, took a Peterborough sunset for a change.
I came back to the hotel and then went out for a lovely meal at Ibrahimi's with Mike. Have had a lovely bath ant then have settled down to a Midsomer Murders.

  1. You've had a very busy day! Bet you'll sleep well tonight. Why don't I ever see those picture opportunities when I walk around Peterborough, and I never see the sunsets :-)
Enjoy a relaxing evening ready for another busy day tomorrow.
Hope you got lots of milk and t-bags again when you went in!
