This morning I was up before 6 am, made sure Darren was up for work and then stayed up. Mike arrived just after 8.30 am and we went for breakfast up the road. Then we walked into town and to the auction house and had a look round as there is an auction on tomorrow. Nothing caught my eye you will be pleased to hear! From there we walked through town and then home, had a naughty but nice drink in the Thorntons cafe and then back here. We went off in the car aiming to eventually get some sharp sand for me to try and make the soil in the back garden a little more manageable. But we stopped at The Mere and decided to walk round, very muddy but nice.
Was pleased with this swan shot!
Trying to hide from the sun to get a shot!
Fabulous bark!!
Two gulls sitting pretty!
As we got back towards the car there was a lovely young white goose preening, but managed to catch him/her when he/she had a rest!
We looked for sand in B & Q but they just had builders sand. Then we went to Deans, they had sharp sand so after we had a drink and scone I got two bags. May put some on the garden while the men are doing shed stuff tomorrow. We drove down to the front before coming home and had a walk along passing the beach huts, very windy and still dry. We saw these different sea birds on the sea, lots of them, not sure if they were resting from the wind and not sure what they are either!
Mike had been cleaning up the computer a bit since we got home. Will be having dinner with Darren, hopefully, later on.
It's been a good day, as the pictures show. The young goose was so cute, and that along with the great swan photo made it worth while paddling through the mud!
ReplyDeleteThe 'bad' chocolate drink in Thorntons was really nice, so may have to try another one just to make sure they're consistent :-)
Yes, a good day, more mundane stuff in store today!
