Garden centre, ice cream parlour and short evening walk

This morning we went to a garden centre near Perth, as Tina had some loyalty points and the remains of a garden centre gift voucher. We got a few things including a bug hotel, mealworms, some plant pot holders and of course a couple of reduced plants. There was a nice view on the way there as well, and a great painted cow on display there.

We then made our way to the ice cream parlour, had a sensible lunch and a naughty dessert! A couple if pics of animals and the view from there.

Back home I hoed the garden beds, keeping the weeds under control so far and later on watered them. I moved the indoor plants around a bit and changed some of the pot holders.
Just after six we went for a walk, my leg hasn’t been too bright today so when we came to a bench I sat for a while and Tina walked a bit further and we walked back together when she returned. A couple of pics  from the walk.

Watching the end of the snooker final now.

  1. That is a lovely view from this morning. The cow is pretty funky too 😊 Garden centres and bank holidays go together well. Of course I don’t suppose all your bank holidays are the same as ours any more. I really don’t know if they differ much. It’s funny you should get a bug house with a butterfly section. Brian got in touch today to say one of his grandsons wants us to make a butterfly house for his garden. So I was making plans for one today. I do like yours though. Quite a little haul you got 😊 The “sensible” lunch and the “naughty” dessert is a perfect way to finish off. The animals certainly have plenty of space up there to roam about.
I think hoeing the garden is going to be your main task once you get everything turned over and planted. It’d certainly be nice if that’s all it consisted of. Definitely a lot less work for you.
I do love all your plants in the room. I just think it looks nice. I’d love to achieve the same look, but you beat me hands down on plants and layout design 😊
It’s good you got out again this evening, but I think you took the sensible choice of the bench. No point in aggravating the leg too much or it’ll get its own back aggravating you tonight!
The last pic is a brilliant one too. A great view to start and end your day. Can’t be bad 😊

  2. It turned out to be a good day, the weather was much better than forecast too. The decorated cow was great, have see lots of different creatures decorated now.
One of the plant pot holders was really supposed to be taller but you could just extend it half way, so now spiky won’t be such a problem to water! I do like my plants although if I didn’t have them I would have a lot more room!
Lunch was good and the animals there look happy.
The evening walk was pleasant, the riverside paths are lovely.
Watched the end of a great snooker final, not that I am a particular fan but it was a close match.
