Bench assembly and different walk

This morning the self assembly bench arrived. The blurb when I ordered it said it could be assembled in bout 15 minutes. It definitely took me a bit longer than that but it was pretty straightforward, I needed a bit of ingenuity when fitting the cross beam. I am delighted with it, it is strong and had good depth to take the bonsai dishes. I wanted two, but just ordered one to start with in case it wasn’t suitable. No more in stock at the moment but hopefully they will be available again soon.

We had been going to go to Perth today but Tina wasn’t feeling too bright so I decided to go for a walk nd try to get up to the war memorial cairn up on a hill. I found the start of the track, it was steep in parts but zig zagged and not too long.

This photo was from a bench not long before I reached the top.
Then some photos at the top, including a bluebell wood behind the cairn, not in full bloom yet though.

I made my way down and then went and had lunch in Dunkeld. I decided to walk back along the river path even though mu left leg was feeling like it was about to give out on me. There were a couple of benches along the way. I haven’t been along for a while nd now spring has sprung.

The next two photos are the ancient sycamore and the Birnum oak, both now in leg despite their age.

and a sign before I got to the steps away from the path!
I haven’t done a great deal since I got back. I went to the library this morning and got a book to red and an audio book, so have started reading the book.

  1. The new bench is great. It even matches in with the shed. The bonsai look so much nicer on there. I do hope they get more in stock. I bet others have done the same as you and ordered one, then ordered more when they realise how good they are.
Shame Tina isn’t feeling so good, but even though you didn’t make it to Perth you still managed an adventure. It does look a bit steep, but at least you could rest on a bench. Again a really lovely place you found. It’s certainly not hard to be envious when all these places turn out to be so nice. Some great views from up there.
I should go out for lunch sometimes. I never do. Breakfast quite often but never lunch. I’ll give it a try 😊
They do seem to have plenty of benches when you’re out and about. So even with an iffy leg you can do your walk in stages. It just makes me feel lazy when I see what your days entail πŸ™‚
I’m not surprised you haven’t done much since. I think you deserve a rest with a good book πŸ“–πŸ˜Š
An interesting day, and a great set of pics 😊

  2. That adventure was quite close to home too, and will definitely go up there again, sitting on the bench high up with nobody else around wA lovely.
I couldn’t be more pleased with the bench, and the trees really do look good on there.
The weather is supposed to be gong down hill for the weekend, so may not get walks in, we will see.
