This morning we went into Blairgowrie, Darren had some business to do there and we had a wander round, stopped for coffee and cake and visited a fab book shop that we went to last time we went. Also went to The Nest which sells donated art and craft stuff, we just got some material so that I can tidy up a sign for the church. A couple of photos, a building that would have been lovely in its day and an unusual bike rack.
On the way back Tina drove us to Polney Loch which is a walkable distance from home, don’t know bout walk back as well though! It was lovely and there was an old building which used to be a curling shed. In England people skate on frozen lakes, in Scotland they curl!We have had a relaxed afternoon. Tina and I both bought jigsaws at the book shop, I got the next one I will attempt, it will probably be more tricky than the previous two! I also got a mini 50 piece one which I did this afternoon. Tina bought one for her Aunt as it is her birthday next week.

I think Blairgowrie is a lovely name. In fact all the place names up there sounds better than ours. I also like that building and it should definitely be renovated and reused. A bike-rack in the shape of a car is “different” too.
ReplyDeleteI do like all the lochs you have access to. Such a nice place to go to get away from everything and be able to catch your thoughts every now and then. I think I should have lived in the middle of nowhere, and I’m sure sure there are a lot of people who still think I should! The thought of the locals going curl on the lakes when they're frozen only makes the thoughts harder to resist. What a great life.
I like the new bee jigsaw. At first look I though it would be a lot easier than the others, but on a closer look I can see why it may be considerably harder. The Jane Eyre one is more my limits.
We got away without any rain where I was visiting, but we may be in for some later today.
Blairgowrie is a nice name, and it is an interesting little town, it is n a hill so you go up and down streets, literally.
ReplyDeleteIt is a shame to see some of the lovely building is disrepair, such a pity.
I thought the bike rack was a bit odd, but something to comment on!
The lochs are lovely, the one yesterday was smaller and quite off the beaten track. Iwa suing to Darren earlier that the river path has been lovely since i got here, but with the better weather come walking groups, so folk curling on a loch!
