Before I went out for a walk with Darren I did some sorting in the kitchen as I wanted to clear the table as I had a repair job to do for Tina, well, for the church really. When we were ready to leave William had left two tiny oak trees for me to bonsai, so that will be interesting.
We walked into Dunkeld, had a coffee and looked in a few shops before getting something for lunch. We walked back along the river path and I took a photo of Darren by the sycamore tree, I know I have mentioned it’s girth before but having someone stand by it gives a better indication of its size. After lunch Darren set off for Hornsea and I spent the afternoon tidying up a material sign for the church. It was a flimsy material and the eyelets had rotted and torn the material. So I cut those off and cut out a made edges with the material Tina bought in Blairgowrie yesterday. She had ordered some eyelets that don’t need a machine. I did have to cut the holes in the material but they worked well.Hanpve done a bit of the jigsaw, but leaning over the swing and the jigsaw has made my backache!

You’ll have a few new bonsai growing. I hope the all do well and end up viable. The problem is it takes such a long time!
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to get out with Darren for a walk. It also gives you a subject to show tree sizes π
It’s a shame Darren has so much driving for such a short time up there. Luckily it won’t be for much longer.
I think you’ve done a really good job of that sign. It should keep them going for a few more years. The more sturdy material at the edges is a very good idea. Now they know you can do little jobs like that you’ll be inundated with requests π
I suppose the backache will stop you thinking about the bad leg! Always a bright side ππ I know, I’m not funny, I’ll get my coat π
It will be good to have oak tree bonsais so I will endeavour not to kill them.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed have a walk and chat with Darren, when he moves up here we may go to boot sales again, there is a site a few miles away that opens all year.
It was a bit of a challenge doing the sign, but it makes the ld grey matter do some work, which is good!
The backache has taken my mind of the knee which was threatening to give out again on the walk!
