Blair castle and gardens and parade part one!

Today we left about ten to go to Blair Castle and gardens. Later in the day there was to be a parade by the only private army left in Europe. The castle was unusual and the grounds lovely, not that we saw much of them.i took a lot of photos and will only comment if I think it is necessary.

We thought that was a good way to stop people sitting on chairs, there were chairs dotted about for guests.
The stags heads almost outnumbered the weapons.

Loved this!

This clock was made in Dunkeld
There were hundreds of oil paintings but I loved these watercolours of one of the dukes children.

Two photos of this, it is actually a coin chest.

After going round the castle we had some lunch. The rest of the trip on the second post.

  1. Oh my that is a beautiful place. I love the house/castle. Very fairytale.
That is a clever idea to stop people sitting on the chairs. Although I’m sure some of British visitors got to the trouble of moving them!
It looks as beautiful inside as it does out. I assume the thing you love is a milk jug? And it’s just come to me that it means straight from the cow 😊
The clock is gorgeous. I’d love to have something like that.
It’s like burghly house but on steroids!
You should definitely go back there, probably more than once.

  2. It was like a fairytale castle, and three floors to wander through, could have taken many more photos. Yes, it was the milk jug that caught my eye.
