Feeling weary and bonsai potting

I have felt weary and achey today but I think that I probably overdid the walking yesterday as I haven’t been doing so much lately. I needed to sort the cat area and the plastic container that had the sack of cat litter broke when I moved it. I had a hamper basket in the wardrobe but it was full of pictures. The sack fits in it fine but now I have nowhere for the surplus pictures. I have found gaps for three and some of the others are photos so o can take them out and the frames can go to the charity shop.

The jigsaw is progressing, albeit slowly, we have most of the captions done so I placed them on the puzzle. Pandora came to see that I had done it properly!

She never plays with the pieces but catches them with her tail or when she jumps off!
After lunch I went of to do some tree potting. I bought a lovely ceramic pot for the oak tree yesterday, and some strong plastic pots arrived today for the others.

I potted the beech and the Rowan that I pulled up on our walk a couple of days ago first. I realise that I forgot to take a photo of them so will do that tomorrow. Then I got the descendant of the Birnam oak out of the pot that it has obviously been in for some time. It was a tall pot and the trunk had developed inside the pot as well as on the top. There were roots on the lower part so I have planted it with a lot of roots exposed. Cutting a chunk of trunk off was a step too far for me, so hopefully it will be okay. O stood the pot by it when it was done for the photo.
Fingers firmly crossed now!
I have been reading a book that I got at the book stall on Saturday, it is really interesting and it is a Scottish charity.
Hopefully I will feel a bit more lively tomorrow as I am intending going into Edinburgh in the morning with Tina. She has a course to attend and I went to familiarise myself with the train station before I travel south in three weeks time.

  1. I think you’re probably right about overdoing it. You did do rather a lot. I get the same feeling myself quite often these days 😊
It still amazes me that Pandora can sit on the puzzles like that and not wreck them. You’d think she’d bat the bits with her paw. The jigsaw itself is coming on very slowly. You do pick some stinkers to do!
The new pot is very nice, but it is for a special tree. To be honest I think planting it with some roots above ground might be a bonus if it takes ok. If the above roots continue to grow and thicken up they’ll look pretty good.
That’s a lot of new pots you have there. Your new stand must be getting pretty full!
I hope you wake up feeling raring to go in the morning. It’s a very good idea doing a reccy of the station before you travel. I’d do exactly the same. Getting there and already knowing the layout makes a hell of a difference, especially if you don’t have much time.

  2. I have been reading, so a quick comment as I need to get to bed!
I am hopeful for the trees, as long as the expected heavy rain doesn’t dislodge them!
I hope I feel up to the trip tomorrow, you will find out tomorrow!
