This morning I thought I would attack the chest freezer which was well iced up, and I sent for some freezer baskets yesterday which arrived nice and early. We had cool bags and ice blocks so I emptied the freezer out.
When I had emptied the ice into the bowl there were huge blocks, that was at about 9am and as I write this at 7pm they still haven’t melted! Chest freezers are useful but a paint to find stuff when they are full. The times things have been left out as you move them to search, d then things at the bottom are there for way too long! I did measure properly so the baskets would fit in once the ice was gone. There are five baskets and they are stackable and easy to lift out when searching!Meanwhile the chaps who mow the lawns arrived but it was obvious that the grass was dying again and not in need of a cut! So a asked them if they would mind going and getting stakes and mallet and stake the apple tree, the wisteria and possibly the tamarix. I gave them some cash and they went off to the garden centre and Wicks. Then they came back and got on with it and I am very pleased.
I think they enjoyed having something different t to do and it wa jobs I couldn’t have managed.
I carried on with some sorting in the laundry room and did some washing so a good day despite not leaving the house today!
I have the same feelings as you about chest freezer. You can never find what you want, until you come across a meat pie that's been in there several years. I know you can get more in, but they're a pain! Looks a bit different after defrosting and added baskets. Definitely time well spent. A tree pic found its way in there somehow, then repeated later where it should have been.
ReplyDeleteThat was a good use of the gardeners time. They've done a good job of it too. You were very organised today getting sensible jobs done, but not overdoing it too much. You didn't overdo it too much did you? π
Definitely on the upward path again π
No, I didn’t overdo it and it was a productive day. Have managed to remove the rogue picture.
ReplyDeleteIt is even more of a pain finding things in a chest freezer when you are on the short side!
Will hopefully get a few more things b done before Tina gets home, half way through the retreat now,
It hadn't occurred to me that your stature made a chest freezer even worse. Don't want Darren or Tina coming home to find two feet sticking out the freezer π₯Άπ
