An ouch start to the day!

I did my word puzzles before I got up as usual and when I got out of bed I caught me middle toe on the storage drawer, ripped the nail half off! Ouch! The problem is that I am not that flexible anymore and have trouble reaching to cut my toe nails let alone try to get a plaster round the middle toe! It has made walking uncomfortable and I am nervous of catching the nail nd tipping it off completely, so time to be careful!

I did go to the postbox and then the bank a bit later. Carol was coming to collect me to go and have lunch somewhere so I went into the garden to top up the bird baths, they dry up quickly and I see numerous birds bathing and drinking, even the gap rows and seagulls come for a drink and the wood pigeons sit in one for a while cooling their feet! The sunflowers have risen to over six feet now, it was a mixed colour pack but they all seem quite dark.

When I was walking back from the bank I called in at Boyes for a flower pot and say a little fairy house for £2.99, small, but will be an addition to the fairy garden.

I have spent a while on the jigsaw today, well on the way now.

Have been to see Sarah and David, David is still having to sleep on the sofa but seems fairly okay with the stronger medication.

I am giving the watering a miss tonight, and may not have the gardening day I had planned.

I did remember to feed the cakes this morning!

  1. That made me wince again reading about the toe, the same as it did when you told me earlier. It’s just such a horrible thing to do and I know how painful it is! I also know what it’s like not to be as flexible these days πŸ˜‚
The bird baths are really needed this weather. You get a lot of visiting birds in your garden, so it’s good to look after them. I haven’t seen any in my garden for ages. I’ve even thrown out bread, but it never disappears.
The sunflowers look nice. Maybe it’s the light, but they look two very different colours. One more red and the other orange.
I like your fairy house πŸ™‚ Not bad for the price. Is the fairy garden still at the front next to the house?
The puzzle will soon be finished. Have you got more to come?
I think it was a good idea to give the watering a miss. Humping those cans around the garden is a sure way of stubbing your toe again, and you certainly don’t want that 🦢🀬πŸ₯΄

  2. The sunflowers are different colours but the packet appeared to have some more yellow. I am amazed that they have got so tall as they haven’t had a lot of water this year.
I am really miffed that I caught the toe, and very awkward being the middle toe, hard for me to dress it.
May get the puzzle finished tomorrow unless Darren decides to have a look tonight.
The fairy garden is still in the front garden but by the bay tree.
