The three ready for the oven.
I nipped to the post box once they were in the oven, that was my only venture out. Once back I got back I got on with lining three more tins and making three more mixes. As soon as the first lot were all out in went the second lot.
While they were cooking I washed all the bowls etc and prepared another lot for the morning.
Got tea for Darren and myself and went to visit Sarah and David. Wrapped the second lot of cakes when I got back and now sitting in my rocking chair for the first time today.
One diversion today, not a welcome one as I heard Pandora at the back door and thought she was letting me know she wanted to come in. As I let her in she was looking at the side of the door and there was a mouse, looking dead! I got her in and ignored her efforts to be let out while I finished what I was doing. I did remove it a bit later, great timing by her to decide to become a hunter today!
Will finish with a memory from five years ago, seems unreal now!
And the production line starts! You’ll have really big muscles in your arm from mixing all those cakes. I can’t believe you’ve cooked six today! You’re very organised and methodical. You’ve had years of practice doing them though 🙂 I can almost smell them cooking, and I could dig in to one of the finished ones now 🤤
ReplyDeleteI honestly don’t know where you find the time to bake six cakes, cook tea and go out visiting, plus mouse disposal thrown in too! You should sleep well tonight, and then you can do it all again tomorrow……..and the next day!
I had a Google memory pop up from sixteen years ago the other day. It’s frightening!
I am very organised this year, but still spent way too long in the kitchen.
