Yesterday evening I went down to do a bit to the jigsaw and of course I had company who had other ideas!
This morning I had decided to go to Beverley for a little trip out. Not the best day to pick as it was extremely hot and it was Ladies Day at Beverley race course so the bus got full to bursting, In fact I am sure that there used to be a limit on people standing of buses, there were over a dozen on our single decker by the time we got to the bus station. So pretty hot by the time I was walking around. Did stop for a drink and popped in a few shops. I had been going to go to Flemingate but the bus couldn’t get there as the rod was closed. Did see another knitted post box topper.
I sat for a while with a cold drink when I got home but then took a walk into Hornsea as I have been looking for woven flower pot holders as I like them and they are not so heavy. No luck in Beverley or locally so have ordered some.
I did do a bit to the jigsaw when Pandora moved yesterday evening and Darren came in for a little while before I gave up, and have put a few more bits in this afternoon.
Will be going to do the watering before too long.
I'm always amazed she doesn't wreck the puzzle doing that.
ReplyDeleteYour trip out sounds like my idea of a nightmare. I hate crowded buses, and in this heat it must have been unbearable. I think there used to be a lower limit to people standing on a bus too.
Those toppers are brilliant. I wonder what happens to them once the event is over. Assuming the oiks don't nick them!
I bet the cold drink and the rest were really welcome after your trip.
It's amazing you can get virtually anything you want off of Amazon, but you can never find stuff locally. No wonder local shops are being driven out of business by the online giants. It's a shame.
You're not doing bad with the puzzle. I'd still be looking for outside bits.

ReplyDeleteThe journey into Beverley was pretty unbearable, was certainly ready to get off but then it was like an oven outside!
The toppers are great, some very talented and imaginative people around.
Pandora doesn’t play with the jigsaw pieces, she just likes to be near her people which can be a bit of a pain!
Watering done, only enough to keep them alive!
