This morning I woke up with some energy and decided to wash the bathroom floors before I got dressed! It won’t last. I did one or two other chores and then Sher came to take me to Skirlaugh to have breakfast at The Lazy Bean cafe. Very nice breakfast and a good chat so that was good, Sher reminded me about the garden market which is on the first Saturday in September where she has allocated me a table to try and get some takers for my sketches. So I started sorting a few to frame and took decent photos with the camera of ones that I would like to get made into notecards at some point.
I got an email back from GTech which asked me to run some checks on the strimmer, that also mentioned I could buy the updated version for under half price. I emailed back after I had done the checks and asked for details of the offer as on their website it is still at full price.
I walked to Jeans via the memorial gardens and the sea front. These thistles had seeded and were blowing about in the wind.
Jean was her usual self, still struggling with her back but is managing to do more now. Terry drove me home as usual. I went into the garden to top up the bird baths and fill the watering cans for later. Managed to get a reasonable photo of this quite small spider.
I wish I could wake up one morning with some energy. I can't remember the last time I did! You put me to shame in so many ways ๐
ReplyDeleteBreakfast at a nice cafe is a good way to start the day, after a couple of chores that is.
The market sounds a good idea. It's be great if you could sell a few of your sketches. I'll be very interested to know how that goes.
Have GTech not got back to you since? It would be nice to get the updated version for half price. You should pester them!
The thistles are very pretty when they go to seed. Such a good evolved way of spreading your seeds far and wide. I bet the wind carries them for miles.
Looks nice at the front and there are actual people in the pics. You normally manage to capture it when it's deserted.
The spider pic is good. Even better when you consider it was taken on a phone. Does anyone ever use a proper camera any more? I can't remember the last time I did. I really should make an effort.
It really is an odd concept having a rest day from not talking ๐
The penultimate pic is lovely. It's a beautiful place she staying at. She won't want to come home.
I must have fish and chips one day. It'll probably the same day I sort the camera out and use it ๐
I doubt I will be bursting with energy again any time soon!
ReplyDeleteI think the artist that did the artwork at Sher’s shops had done the artwork at the cafe, which is probably why Sher wanted us to try it. It was nice and made a change.
It was quite busy at the front but it is a sunny day in August and the seaside so shouldn’t really be surprised. Darren had thought about going to the sea front chippy but we thought that the queues would be long.
It is definitely a weird concept having a rest day during a retreat, but she certainly sounded chipper.
I have heard back from GTech and have a direct number to phone in the morning to order the strimmer.
The watering cans are calling now!
Great news Gtech got back to you. Half price is a good deal for you ๐
