We went to the boot sale as usual and had breakfast there today as the owners of our usual eatery were back from holiday. I only went half way round but I did get a set of pretty cups for Sher to make use of. Just a pic of one.
Our mobile hairdressers do the markets and Carol does cut hair there. As Darren wasn’t ready to have his cut yet and I really needed mine thinning out I decided to let her do it there. Darren had just finished looking round when Carol finished.I went and emptied the garden cart into the bin when we got home as I couldn’t be bothered last night. Took this rather bizarre photo of a spider I disturbed!
After I had chatted to Anya I went into the garden, no crazy digging today, I decided to tidy the bed with three large cordylines at the back. The one on the right was obscured by a huge white daisy plant that needed serious attention! Plenty of weeds too and dying plants. I worked on it before and after lunch. When I had tidied it up I used four cans of water on that bed to try and refresh it a bit. I didn’t take a before, but will post the after. Also did a lot of dead heading of the dahlias so hopefully the will flower some more. One bug pic too!
After dinner I went out to do the rest of the watering and took a pic of this pretty yellow flower.
Wanted to mention the Venus fly trap plant. Darren has tried to grow them from seed many times so although it is still quite small we are very proud of this successful ones that had been catching the little thunder bugs. Will finish with a pic of my furry friend who has pinned me down to get some attention!
They are very unusual cups. You do spot some good stuff. You really must try to get some pics of the finished items from Sher. I’d love to see what she does with them.
ReplyDeleteHaving a haircut at a car boot sale is definitely a new one on me. But you get all sorts of things at car boots these days. Does she get many clients there?
The spider looks like it’s balanced on one leg!
Glad to hear you didn’t try any more digging to remove the roots from hell! 😂 I’m sure you will another day though. The bed you did looks nice. I can vividly imagine what the before pic would be like.
I love ladybirds. I’ve got one sitting on the net curtain in my kitchen now. It’s been there a while, but I’ve seen it move so it must be ok.
Darren is being good while Tina is away. I’m sure all the branch repairs and tip runs will be left to her when she gets home 😊
Another day without rain! We really could do with some soon, if for no other reason than giving you a night off from doing it!
I am going to try and concentrate on one bit of garden at a time and do my best to ignore the rest! At least concentrating on a small bit at a time o can definitely see the improvement.
ReplyDeleteI don’t think I will be doing any gardening tomorrow as may be gong out with Carol and Janet again, but no plans for Tuesday!
I don’t think Carol gets many clients, we go early and I have never seen anyone he having a haircut.
