Bits and pieces

Yesterday evening when I was watering I noticed a pretty pink gladioli had fallen over and when I went to stake it up it broke, so now it is indoors!

This morning I walked up to Tesco to do the main shopping, Darren was lined up to take me on a Saturday while Tina is away but he had to go into work today. I took a pic of the church as I went by, looking splendid now.
I did do some sewing on the trousers and went to Boyes to get some elastic. A pic if I ever get them finished.
After lunch I went into the garden for a while and did some weeding. The sunflowers are now around six feet and two are opening, it was a variety pack of seeds but these two are both dark.

I ama bit disappointed as the gladioli I thought were yellow are pure white, very lovely but not what I was expecting.

The Hornsea Herring apple tree had so many apples on a branch that the weight and wind broke it. I gathered up most of the apples and as it isn’t completely sheared will see if I can save it with Darren’s help tomorrow. Quite a lot of apples, not sure what they will be like. Talking of apples I had been going to buy some in Tesco, but no English ones available, they were from South Africa, Chile and New Zealand. I didn’t buy any!

When I was weeding I took a couple of cutting from an acer to see if I can root them. My willow bonsai tree I have I grew from a cutting.

That’s it for now, still struggling a bit using the Blogger.

  1. That pink gladioli found itself a new home—accidental, but not unwelcome. Shame about the apple tree, though. Looks like it gave all it could. Handy timing not buying apples at Tesco.

Good that the trousers are moving along and the church offered a nice photo on the way. Sunflowers showing off and the white gladioli were a surprise, even if not what you expected. Cuttings on the go again—can’t hurt to try, and you’ve made it work before.

I have been told the apples may be quite tart, they are eating; cooking apple’s apparently.
