Better get moving

I decided that I wasn’t walking enough, I am getting stiffer and less flexible by the day. So this morning I set off for a walk and headed for the Cross Pennine Trail, haven walked Long there for a while. I cut through the memorial gardens on the way.

I always like the start of the trail.

If you zoom in this gives the distance to Southport.

The bind weed is all over the plants along the way, a complete pin in the garden but not unattractive elsewhere!
Some other pics along the way.

That bindweed again!

Very overgrown stream.

A nice display of shorter sunflowers outside the fire station on the way home.

And this is a stream no more! The wood pigeon was rooting around in the second pic.

I thought of having a cuppa at the cafe on the way back but it was closed, so had one indoors. Popped in to see Sher and got the latest prop squad cutting, now in water, getting quite a collection now!

She had some exciting news, so happy for her.
I spent a hour or so in the walled garden before having lunch, no photos but a pretty good clearance again. Took one photo.
After lunch I spent a couple of hours sorting out in the laundry room, quite a lot of stuff now in the bin or ready for the charity shop.
Will finish with a photo of the sunflowers that are still surviving.

  1. Blimey, you have been active. Do you feel better for it or worse? I think I’d give the walk to Southport a miss. Bit of a trek!
Some lovely pics on the way. I think the overgrown stream looks great. Maybe I’m a bit odd, but to me it’s a lovely pic. I also think the ladybird pic is brilliant. It has the right combination of greens and browns to show off the red in the middle. I’d definitely print that one if I’d taken it.
The award is lovely for Sher. That’s really good news. Be nice if it also brings in a few new customers.
So how far did you walk today, and are you aiming for it to become a regular thing again?
    Hopefully you’re relaxing this evening.

  2. It has been a good day, have only done just over the10,000 but some of the activity wasn’t actually walking!
The trail is nice to walk along, only saw a few people along there today, most of them with dogs.
The ladybird was on one of the bonsais, just seemed a must take photo.
I overgrown stream made a good picture, amazing how those weeds keep growing while the water disappears!
In my mind Iam gong to walk more, but time will tell…..
