Braving a trip out on the bus!

As  I heard there was a cello concert in Beverley today at lunchtime so got myself a ticket and set off this morning. The seat I sat in on the bus hadn’t got a lot of leg room so my knee was a bit achey on arrival. I had time for a quick drink before going to the church. We had to queue outside so took a photo while I waited!
The concert was part of a series over a few days. There were five cellists and it was a lovely hour. This page from the program lists the pieces they played. There were articles about each composer and at the back details about the different cellists.

The church was really full which was great. After that I went and had lunch at The Monkey Tree, great wallpaper and I tried something different for lunch, a cray fish salad with avocado and mango! Never had crayfish before, not totally convinced I will have them again, but it was a lovely salad.
Then I went round the town, did some shopping for essentials and some not, but it is probably a couple of months since I browsed shops, so although I might pay for it, worth every painful moment! I got the new Richard Osman book half price with a free book thrown in!
Glad to be sitting on the bus coming home as walked quite away round the town.
Did feed the birds when I got home and took a photo of the autumn crocuses.
First live Strictly show to enjoy this evening.

  1. Really pleased the concert was as good as you expected. I bet it sounded even better for being in a church. The acoustics are great. Actually quite a nice church too. Shame you didn’t get to find out about the concerts earlier as you might have gone to others. I’m sure there’ll be more. It’s just good that you can get out again and get back to doing some of the things you enjoy. Hopefully things will settle down now and you won’t be on edge thinking you have to jump on a train at 5 minutes notice 🤞
Your lunch looks great. I’ve never had crayfish either, but maybe one day I’ll get to try them.
Shopping is good therapy and it has been quite a while since you had the chance. Sounds like you got some bargains too, so not too bad. Bet you were ready to put your feet up this evening and watch your programs 😊💃🕺

  2. It is a lovely church and great to see it full for the performance,
I doubt you often get four cellists on the same stage. I M going to look them up and see if they have recorded some of the pieces they played.
Mmm, cold crayfish, okay but not sure about it, the rest of the salad was great.
