Boot sale and church

Darren took me to the boot sale as usual, our usual breakfast stop was closed so we had our sausage sandwich at a different one, it wasn’t quite so busy today and I managed to get the whole way round. Quite a few bits today, Darren the usual electrical stuff and he spotted a new teapot. I got a gecko and a lizard and a great glass vase to give to Sher.m that was the bargain of the day  at 25p!
Yu can find dvds as cheap as 10p each now so got a couple, and the picture made me laugh out loud nd had to be had for a pound.
I also got a couple of cat mats very cheaply, we use them under their food dishes.
If you look at the blog regularly you will know I have posted spider photos the last couple of evenings, so it was interesting to find this article in the paper yesterday.
This afternoon I went with Bel to the church. The bishop of Hull was taking the service as it was a confirmation for five candidates. But during the service the bishop blessed the lovely kneelers that Bel had made. It was lovely to be with her and they were on display at the front of the church.
When I came back I did spend a while tidying another bed in the garden. Took a couple of pictures of the sunflowers.
I had some new garden clogs arrive today and have a new garden cart coming tomorrow. I aim to keep tidying bit by bit out there!

  1. It’s a while since you’ve made it around the whole boot sale, so that’s a good thing, unless there were only two cars there today 😂 I like the lizard, and the bowl was a bargain. Be interested in seeing what Sher does with it. DVDs are ridiculously cheap now, but I suppose most people stream films. DVDs will eventually go the way of the VHS tapes in ye olden days. I remember when the first recorders appeared on the market, the tapes were only capable of 30 minutes recording! How things have changed. I feel like a dinosaur now 😊
Was the article trying to stop people killing spiders? They must be one of the most killed things around. I think everyone as a little fear of them. Shame really.
I bet Bel was really pleased with the blessing. But I remember the pics of the kneelers she made, and they were really good. Nice for you to be there with her too.
You’re really getting back into the gardening again. You seem to have set yourself limits though, which is really good. I know how easily you overdid things before. Little and often, and slow and easy. Two of my favourite mottos 😄
    The sunflowers are lovely.

  2. The article was encouraging people to remove spiders without killing them, explaining just how many bug pests they actually consume over the year! A lot of other interesting stuff about their behaviour etc too.
Some good bargains at the boot sale, the dvd about the Queens garden sounds really interesting and Fly Away Home is one of my favourite films.
Yes, slowly does it is the mantra for the garden at the moment.
