This morning Darren took me to Hornsea Garden Centre where I got another raised planter while they are still on offer, some more plants and even a few more bulbs! It rained on and off today so will hopefully get some of the new plants in tomorrow.
Although it was raining I went for a walk, had a couple of letters to post and then walked down to the sea. Had some lunch in the leisure centre where the cafe is alongside the pool. Only three people in there today so it has made me think about giving swimming a try again. It had stopped raining when I took pictures of the sea, but almost forgot that I had taken a picture of ivy on a tree in the memorial garden..
I called in at the two florists on my way home, wanting to get some plants ready for setting up the terrarium. I had ordered some glass dishes for the tops of the bowls and also have some bun moss due to arrive. Not easy getting really small indoor plants, but with a couple I got at the garden centre and what I bought today I have enough to get started.
I wandered into the park on the way back to have a sit down before going home.
Although it started raining again I thought I would go and look at our wall from the park side. The back where it had collapsed was visible but no clear view of the work along the side!
Just after I got home a parcel arrived, seemed a bit on the large side for dishes or bun moss. It turned out to be very well wrapped and padded, boxed glass dishes. They are really lovely.
I did frame the painting I did yesterday but other than that have had a pretty easy afternoon. I did assemble the new planter and sorted the recycling bins out for collection.
New series of Shetland starts tonight, so I will hopefully stay awake!
O
No wonder the doctors aren’t giving out appointments, you’ve got them all! 😊 I really do hope the cortisone helps with the knee. One ache less would be better than none. It’s all go.
ReplyDeleteGlad you managed to get back for another planter before the offer ran out. Did you have to blackmail Darren with cake and a drink? 😀 The plants look nice. Very green and healthy looking. No doubt the rain showers will have helped a bit. At least the ground should be soft for you to get them in tomorrow.
I think swimming again would be a great idea. I know you used to enjoy doing it before, as long as it’s not crowded. Definitely worth a try. Plus you can jump out the pool and have a bit of lunch afterwards.
The ivy and grass look really green and healthy in that pic too. It’s amazing what a bit of rain does.
The front looks as nice as usual in the pics. I really like the first one, great sky.
I’m looking forward to seeing the terrarium when you’ve got it all done. The glass dish for the top looks really good. Obviously very well packed to get to you in one piece, specially after the couriers have probably played football with it! Hope the bun moss arrives soon so you can get on with it.
The painting looks even better now it’s framed. I think it’s great that you can get instant artwork like that. You make it look so easy.
Enjoy Shetland, if you don’t nod off.
(Is the O at the bottom some sort of hidden code for the Russians?)
Just there to keep you guessing! Going to leave it there……
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to either get planting in the garden or the terrarium tomorrow, dependent on weather and how my knee feels.
I’d stick with the terrarium regardless of the weather, much easier!
