Another lovely day

Very heavy rain in the night and still windy and raining when we went out for breakfast. We went to Scalby Manor for breakfast, there were a lot of squadies having breakfast, wonder what they arrived in!

We had a good breakfast, and although it was a bit cool and overcast we went off to Peasholm park so that we could walk through to the glen. We had bird food and nuts for the squirrels but spent more time feeding the pigeons!

Lots more pics. only commenting if I feel it is necessary.

This fallen tree had become an amazing natural bug hotel!

Another fantastic fallen tree and when we got right up to the cemetery a most unusual tomb stone.

We headed back down the glen and when at the bottom after a couple of stops and had a cuppa.

After the cuppa a quick stop for me to feed the Canada geese before heading home for a rest.
After a rest and cuppa we went to the South Bay. We had an ice cream at the Harbour Bar and then went into an amusement arcade. We spent more money than you want to know trying to win a toy flamingo, we didn’t, but the guy we had been getting our coins from was amused when I asked if he couldn’t just give us the very expensive flamingo, and he did! She is called Ruby and is here with me when we were having a cup of coffee!
A couple of shots of the bay, one more sensible than the other….

Then we were off to the mere with the rest of the duck food. We were so excited to see a couple of water rats, obviously very hungry to be running around in the open. Tina has a more powerful zoom on her phone that I have, but I managed to get a couple of shots with them both in.

A couple more pics from the mere.

We went to Lidl to charge the car and get some goodies for supper. Tina took this last picture when she had to go out and change the parking disc in the car!
Another full day.

  1. Well what a great day, and LOTS of lovely photos. Breakfast with squaddies is always a good start.
Peasholm Park is a great place. It looks as nice as I remember it. The wildlife was extra keen to relieve you of the food you took! Even the rats!
Can’t believed you sweet talked the guy out of a pink flamingo 😊
Love the final pic of the bay at night, lovely.

  2. A brilliant three days, the morning with Tina tomorrow and staying here the final night on my own. Seems like we have been here longer.
