Painting and planting!

A damp morning but I didn’t need much of an excuse not to get out into the garden! I had a bit of shopping I needed to went along the road, spotted this car which almost made me wishI still had one, well, this one to be precise!
A couple of months ago I bought a couple of dahlias that weren’t too happy and had no flowers, but they are a joy now and will hopefully be around for a few years.

The squash I bought yesterday inspired me to do a bit of painting, not sure if that is a signal that I am feeling better in myself or just a fixation with the squash!
I did get out in the garden this afternoon and but quite a lot of bulbs in the bed I have been working on and quite a few of the bedding plants I bought. Still looks pretty bare, but they are winter plants so should fill out before too long.

I tried taking some cuttings from the golden chrysanthemum and have put them in the new planter, nothing ventured and all that.  Again, not sure if it is my mood, but I really enjoyed t bed, even the bulbs, and to be honest I never enjoy the gardening here, I enjoy the fact that it looks better, but it often feels like a never ending chore.
I have been getting an idea together for some squash machine sewing, but will save that for another day.
Time for coffee and Holby now.

  1. I like that car too. Would suit you down to the ground. Not sure Darren would go anywhere with you though 😊
You’re very good at rescuing plants on their last legs. They look very healthy now and very pretty.
I think the painting is a sign of you feeling a bit better. But it’s very good either way. I wonder how long it would take to dry that squash out?
You’ve spent a lot of time on that corner plot, but it does look so much better now. It still makes me smile every time you mention planting bulbs 🙄 In a hundred years time someone will be digging out thousands of them and cursing you!
I have a theory of why gardening seems like a never ending chore……..it’s because it damn well is! Stick with sewing, painting and taking pics, it’s so much easier.
    Enjoy your program.

    1. Not a bad day , may get outside and plant more bulbs!
Loved that car, although red would have been even better.
I am always pleased when I get the water colours out.
