A couple of men that volunteer at the museum came round to ask if they could clear a plant from the wall that was over outside, I. Fact the one that was decoratin the outhouse roof. Will go back through my photos and show before and after.
They were very careful to prevent the roof from collapsing.
I did go in the front garden for a while before lunch and put in quite a lot of plants and a few bulbs. Not looking a lot different yet but when the new plants take and start to flower it should look good.
After lunch I spent a bit of time on the greenhouse emptying sacks of bird feed into containers. When Lesley arrived ready to do some weeding I hoped the corner bed first that I had planted up a couple of weeks ago. Then I cleared another bed while Lesley worked along one edge of the garden. Didn’t take photos but we worked for a bit over and hour. Then we had a cuppa and chat in the summer house for over an hour.
Not such a busy day but feel like getting some order into the front garden at least is progressing.
The tomatoes in the walled garden had gone wild and been pretty much left to their own devices. Got a nice little haul today and they are really tasty.
Hopefully a bit more progress tomorrow.
Sounds like you’ve had a nice day today. Not overdone it, but achieved things.
ReplyDeleteShame the outhouse roof is plantless now as I thought it looked good with all the greenery on it.
The front bed is looking great and as you say once everything starts growing and filling out it’ll look even better. With any luck the odd bit of weed pulling out hoeing should keep looking good for a while.
Tomatoes for tea was it? ๐
Enjoy part 2 of the drama tonight.
Did have tomatoes for tea.
ReplyDeleteI am feeling reasonably positive about getting the garden under control, Lesley was a bit overwhelmed when she saw the work to be done in the back garden!
She might stop visiting you then ๐
