Forgiving Pandora!

Yesterday was an extremely traumatic day for Pandora, she needed to go to the vets to be weighed so that we could try a new flea prescription for her. Both cats have been bothered by the fleas this year and the usual treatment didn’t appear to be doing anything to relieve their discomfort. Blue went to the vet last week as she had a poorly paw and was weighed while they were there. She was going back for a check up and was very vocal about not wanting to be in the carrier, took a while to get her in as well! By the time we had cornered Pandora after a good deal of exercise around the house she really was a very unhappy little lady. I thought she would never come near up again. We haven’t had her in a carrier since she moved in with us, maybe she thought she was going for good! Anyway, thankfully she was fine with us when they got home, happy to be stroked but definitely not wanting to be picked up! She snuggled with me in the evening, so all forgiven!
We dry our clothes on Aires’s in the spare bedroom. This morning I opened the French window, the only opening window and that is because we cracked the wood getting it open some time ago! It opens above the porch and Pandora went out to check out the new place, didn’t fancy getting down from there though!
We didn’t go to the boot sale today so I spent some time doing some household chores and getting stuff put away. I did go out in the garden for a while this afternoon to finish off the tidying of the bed I started yesterday. Didn’t do too much digging as I have now got pains in my groin from the work I did yesterday!

The plant on the roof of the outhouse looks pretty now it is flowering, removing it may not be a good idea as I think that is what is holding the roof together!
Yesterday I did keep a few shoots from foxgloves to put in pots and see if they will take and over winter. Got around to potting them this afternoon.
I was a bit longer getting dinner today as I decided to make a turkey and chicken pie, a large one as it turned out, enough for supper or lunch tomorrow. Nice pastry too as that can be a bit hit and miss.
Have watched the Strictly results program, maybe a bit of Dire Straits now!

  1. Well Pandora definitely look happy and comfortable there, so you’re forgiven….for now at least! I’m sure she’ll feel better for not getting bitten so much if the new treatment works.
She looks like she’s a bit bothered you’re going to shut her out on that porch roof in the se one pic. Wicked owners!
Shame you didn’t get to the boot sale. I look forward to seeing pics of the bargains of the day. Maybe next week. The garden looks really nice now you’ve finished that bit off. Hope you don’t suffer any more for it this evening. I think the plant on the roof looks really lovely. As you say it’s probably the only thing holding it all together anyway. They should definitely fix those outhouses, specially as the main building is listed.
I see the new cold frame is getting put to work. Looks a fair size. You should get quite a few bits in it.
The pie does look nice. I’ve not made pastry for ages. Really should make myself a pie. Not so good for the waistline though!
Strictly was good. The result was fair I think.
“Walk of Life” great bit of music and very uplifting. Turn the volume up to 11 😀😈

  2. It was good to get that corner done, may try to get some winter flowering plants this week to go in there.
Pandora seems fine as long as we don’t attempt to pick her up, she isn’t scratching nearly as much so looks like the new treatment is a success so far.
I want to take some geranium cuttings so will put them on the cold frame.
Definitely Walk of Life and Money for Nothing. Can’t help but jig around to them!
