Patrington

Last night I did do a tiny jigsaw, just 150 pieces, that didn’t strain my hands too much!
I managed to get a doctor appointment this morning by going on line early. He was very good, said he thought it was just ‘wear and tear’ but has booked me in for blood tests just to make sure. Strong medication prescribed and I asked if wrist supports were a good idea, he said not to wear them all the time but a good idea when I am working in the garden. I walked up to see the sea when I came out, it has been a lovely day again.

I managed to get wrist supports in a local chemist, so when the numbness has settled I can get back in the garden, but will just do short bursts rather than all day! I collected my pills and had something to eat when I got in so that I could take the first dose.
Walked round to David and Sarah’s at lunch time as they were dropping me off in Patrington for a couple of hours while they went off for appointments.
I walked up to the church first, which is open every day, I was the only person in there and it was very peaceful.

I loved that wooden eagle. The font was carved and had a fabulous cover.

In front of the church was the stump of an ancient ash tree, with the most beautiful carvings on.

I had lunch in a nice little place and took a picture of a dark magnolia flower, not at the same time!

I wandered around until it was time for me to be collected and then we drove home.
I have watered the gardens this evening as the forecast rain didn’t arrive again. Have left the hose out though because I find winding it in a real strain when a I haven’t got poorly hands!

  1. Hopefully the new pills will have kicked in enough to give you a decent nights sleep tonight.
That’s a lovely church and you’ve got some great pictures. I love the font cover in particular. It’s not overly ornate, but it nice. Great carvings on the stumps as well. You’ve certainly made good use of the camera today.
Cakey Bakey Yum Yum sounds the perfect place to stop for lunch 😊 All in all a good day, specially if the pills work.

  2. It is a lovely church, very tranquil inside. Great use of that ancient tree stump.
The food was yum but I didn’t have the cake!
I am hoping for a little less disturbance with the hands tonight!
