Pleased with the start I have made, haven’t done that sort of craft for quite a while.
Since we lived here I have always fancied visiting Honeysuckle Farm. It is probably getting on for a couple of miles out of town, and as I don’t do enough walking thought I would try and make it there. I took a stool with me just in case I was flagging! When you get to this sign there is still about half a mile to go down a single track lane, but there were verges if I needed to get out of the way.
I liked that house on the way along the lane and it’s entrance over a dyke. The farm is lovely, lots of animals and places to explore. Saw the donkeys and a horse at the beginning and one of the sheds full of hay bales for the children to climb on.
I used to have a canary similar to this one. Did use to love my aviary with all the canaries.
Took quite a lot of pics as I wandered round, let’s see if the blogger app throws me off for overdoing it!
I went along the wooded walks, there was a maze which I didn’t go in but will be fun to do if I go with Isobel. She would also like this wild area with the pipes I think!
A couple more nimble shots and then I went into the very nice cafe for a cuppa and a delicious sausage roll!
Was quite weary by the time I had walked home but after a while went out to clear the branches we cut down the other day as we have a tree man coming next week to remove the stumps and make the bed useable.
Then I tidied up the rockery before watering it. It was only made up in the autumn and doesn’t get natural rain because it is under a huge bay tree. But it has taken really well.
Not been thrown off so won’t push my luck!
The furniture looks amazing. It makes such a difference when you get some stain on it. You should be pleased with it as you’ve done a good job. Looking forward to seeing the rooms getting set up in the dolls house.
ReplyDeleteWell apart from it being a long walk with a lot of steps, the Fitbit kind that is, not actual upward steps, it looks a great little place. Lots of stuff to photograph too which is a bonus. Blogger was good to let you get all those pic uploaded without throwing you off 😊 I think my favourite is the untidy looking goose. I liked the way you mentioned sausage rolls just before the pic of the pigs 😊 I think you’ll be visiting there again, specially with Isobel.
You always seem to manage a little bit of gardening in your day. The rockery is looking good. I remember humping those stones about, but it was worth it.
It is a really nice place, over quite a lot of ground and plenty to see. I had animal pellets and fish food. There were some big fish in the ponds. I know I can walk it now, I had worn my boots in case it was muddy but would have been better off walking in the trainers.
ReplyDeleteThe rockery is looking good, it had got quite weedy so a I did clear it up a bit before I watered, no point giving the weeds extra growing power!
