Freeport and friends

This morning I caught the bus up to Freeport, taking the shopping trolley with me. I had been going to bus back as well but the return buses stop in the middle of the day. I went mainly for some toiletries and a few boxes of cheaper cat food. I walked back along Polly’s Path, which is in full bloom now.

After lunch Tina drove me up to Ellie and Brian’s as it is a fair way, but I planned to walk home after my visit. We had a good chat and I found out that Brian does some lovely wood turning. This fishing clock was one of his pieces.

They have an amazing plant flowering in their front garden.
This evening we got carpet and Lino out of one of the out houses and laid it along the path I cleared this week to try and stem the growth of the weeds!
And Tina cleared the weeds along the little sandy path in the walled garden and we planted so drought loving plants and added more sand.
Nibbling away at that garden, we will get there.............

  1. Polly’s Path looks so much different in bloom. Quite a pleasure to walk along.
The fishing reel clock is very unusual. I would never have thought to have done something like that. Definitely a one off I think.
The Lino should kill off the weeds underneath. Just a case of moving it around the garden every now and then! I suppose a VERY big roll of artificial grass would be the permanent answer 😊

  2. I think today I will try to pull the bigger weeds that are popping up in large numbers, the rain hasn’t arrived yet.
Polly’s Path is often mucky and stark in the winter, as you say, quite a transformation.
