Still idle!

I forgot to put a picture of a little hedge in a garden in Patrington yesterday. There was a sign saying plants for sale, the garden was open with a sign to say free feel to wander round and ring if you wanted help or to buy. Another lady and a I rang, but nobody was at home.....enjoyed the little garden though.
The other picture from yesterday is the suet log feeder for the birds that is getting more than a little attention from the visiting woodpecker. Seems it is as tasty as the logs!
Tina had a trying meeting this morning and I am less than happy that I really can’t do anything that requires me to use my hands, so we went to Mr Moos and had a seriously naughty sundae each! A bit later Tina hard a letter to deliver that was near Freeport so she dropped me off there. I had a chat with Aimee in the craft outlet and then walked home. Some pictures on the way of the path and plants.

Another flower on the church yard wall as I came by.
This afternoon I have sat in the summer house and have enjoyed seeing a great number of birds. Sparrows have now discovered the fat ball feeder so now the starlings have clocked it too! I saw finches, tits, and the usual blackbirds. Luckily the cats weren’t around.
Another picture of the feeder, it has been eaten a bit more since I took this one, and a picture of a tulip that is about to drop. It has been stunning for a long while and even in its final stages it is dramatic.

My hands are still far from okay, and I have been resting them, not a lot of choice really as most actions are uncomfortable. But I have done a very short spell of gardening this evening, literally minutes, transplanting four foxglove plants.

  1. It’s good to know you’re taking it easy, even though some of it is enforced due to the pain. But the longer you stay away from any strenuous activity with the hands the better. It must be driving you mad not being able to do your usual daily tasks! It’s nice that you’ve spent a bit longer than normal actually admiring the garden rather than tending it. I think you’re getting quite a bit of pleasure from watching the birds too. Almost like being retired 😊 The woodpecker is really living up to its name, and at the rate it’s going you’ll need another feeder soon. Maybe a stainless steel one next time I think. That’ll slow him down!
Another good batch of pics today. Some nice colourful trees and flowers. I really like the one with the golden red tree.
Hope tomorrow runs along the same lines, including the very bad sundae 😊

  2. I don’t think that feeder will last a lot longer, we have another wooden one the same, it has only chipped away a small amount of that one.
I liked that photo too, I have always liked seeing different coloured trees planted near each other.
Maybe a little gardening tomorrow, will see what sort of might I have.
