Hull and walled garden

I went into Hull on the bus this morning to meet up with a friend I haven’t seen for a couple of years. We met at the bus stations and went and had lunch at a pub near the Ferens gallery.
We went to Queens gardens to look at the solar tower, there are a lot of plaques on the ground around it and apparently they are all lit up at different times because of the way it has been constructed.

We went to look at the church but it was closed today. There are these pavers that have water running over them, very unusual.

The two ducks were enjoying the shade near where we had a rest. I liked the top of this building near the indoor market.
We had a coffee, went to the post office together and then Anne made her way back to the bus station. I went to a couple of shops before going there myself. When I got here me I decided to try and tidy up the walled garden and get out the garden animal ornaments.

I watered the bonsai try and repotted a very pretty climbing plant that we hadn’t realised had green flowers.

Have been to se a friend this evening so to and chat, always good.
The tree man is coming tomorrow to get rid of the stumps in that corner flower bed.

  1. That’s a lovely building in the first picture. You’ve managed to find a few unusual thing to photograph today. The solar tower is very different, and the water running over the paved area is very well done. A bit like the water fountains we have on Cathedral Square, but a bit more refined 😊
I looked at the pic of the green plant in the walled garden for ages until I save the flowers on it. Very well camouflaged. Pretty though.
Another busy day for you, but that’s not too unusual!

  2. It felt like a busy day but getting into Hull and meeting up with a friend I don’t see very often made it different.
Hull is a lovely city with lots of great buildings, friendly too, so one of my favourite places.
They are very pretty little flowers, they become like fluff balls as they drop the petals.
