Garden centre trip and silly bees!

I decided to take the bus up to the garden centre today, I need to repot some plants, well, mainly th coffee trees that are still going strong.also wanted to get some bowls to plant up some hyacinths.the bus stop is a reasonable distance from the centre and you do have to cross quite a busy road, but all was well. I had taken my trolley and is always the way with garden centres I just about got everything into it. It is a straight piece of road and the traffic does shift along it. The fence in front of the bus stop and a gate just next to that made me wonder if it was the best place to be waiting!
Tina got home just after me and she had ordered some cute and very silly bee lights, we may put then between the windows and the secondary glazing as they do have a timer switch. Meanwhile Tina is seen here beeing very happy!
There is a bed in the garden that the volunteers have been avoiding, full of the mutant iris type plants that were in the bed in front of the house. So made a start on it today. First load of roots and bulbs and I could hardly lift it to put them in the garden bin.
I did carry on but didn’t do the whole area, doesn’t actually look like I covered much ground at all.
Hen I was at the garden centre I saw some small slabs that Inthought would be ideal for the fairy garden. Tina suggested that we make the bed that doesn’t get any rain into a fairy garden. I couldn’t bring them home on the bus so Tina drove me back there to get them. A couple of decorative paving slabs too, got them put down.
That’s enough physical work for one day.maybe more tomorrow.

  1. Definitely not a good place to be standing. Bet whatever hit the fence and gate was a write off! Sounds like you had a nice little trip there though, well two if the Rev took you back there again.
Tina certainly looks happy with the lights. Easily pleased :-)
Maybe they were saving that bed for last as they were looking forward to doing it. You’ve probably spoiled their fun now by digging it! Does look good with the mini slabs on it. Definitely fairy, and leprechaun size.

  2. I would go on the bus again, now I have done it once. Keeps the buying in check too unless you have a second visit in a car of course!
I am sure they will be very sad that they won’t have the pleasure of clearing all those roots and bulbs.
