Early start

This morning I got up early, made up a flask and set off to see the sunrise. Took this picture walking along the Main street.
It was too cloudy for it to be a spectacular sunrise but I enjoyed being by the sea early and having my coffee there.
I walked back through the memorial garden and spotted this ivy clad tree.
The rest of the day has been spent in the garden, about six hours. Taking out refreshment and loo breaks I probably worked for five of them. I had already hoed and weeded the large flower bed before I set about removing gourd plant leaves and tidying the lawn edge. The leaves are big and prickly, I created chaos for a while.
Looks a bit better now.
Tina is away so I got tea for Darren and myself and haven’t had much inclination to do anything else. Maybe tomorrow!

  1. I absolutely adore that first picture. It’s just great! I’d crop it slightly, remove the aerials and have it printed.
Wish I was as keen as you. Maybe I was a few months ago, but I seem to have lost it now. Plus you do have the incentive of the sea.
Then you come home and slave for hours in the garden. You’re totally do-lally 😀
And by the way, the bed you tidied up today doesn’t look a bit better, it looks a lot better 😊

  2. Seems like a long time ago that I took that picture now.
I have been neglecting the back garden a bit with all the activity out front.
