As the trial pie turned out okay yesterday evening I decided to try and make the pastry for the pies for the harvest meal. Reasonably successful and big tins to roll out for. But the proof of the pudding will be in the eating!
I did do a bit of hoeing out the front, but think I am gardened out for now. Got the chuck of concrete that looks vaguely like a house in and cleaned it up a bit ready for panting.
Painted it white first, didn’t go right to the bottom as that will be in the ground!
Then started to make it a feature for the fairy garden, not finished yet, but on the way.
Yesterday in Beverley I bought a sketchbook in Paperchase. I think it may have actually been a scrapbook, but it was reduced and I plan to try and do a pencil sketch of some sort in it regularly, very day is the aim,but that probably won’t happen. Did make a start today though.
Went to a concert with Marjorie this evening featuring winners from the Hornsea music festival. Some very young musicians given a chance to perform without being judged. Some quite talented youngsters on violin and piano.
That’s a great clock, and very you. A nice pressie.
ReplyDeleteThe pies do look good, and extremely deep. Or is that an illusion. One filled with chicken and mushroom and one filled with apple would make a perfect dinner!
That lump of stone looks like part of a stone surround for an old type leaded window. It looks great as a fairy house though 😀 You should definitely get Darren to lug it about though!
Cooking, gardening, stone painting, drawing, socialising.......you wear me out just reading about it all!
Quite a full day really, bit of variety too. There is a lot of gardening to do but just couldn’t find the inclination today.
