The sky was quite pretty this morning, a nice background for the chimney and aerial!!
I made the sandwiches for the Not Home Alone group and then got ready to go out. I checked what knitting needles I have as I didn't want to buy more if I didn't need to. Took the new book with me so that I could check what colours I needed. The patterns are all in four ply so when I did get into town there was not a lot of choice in Boyes. I caught the bus to Castle Road and walked back to the studio and had a cup of tea with Sandy. I already had a list of things to get in town and Sandy added to it, wanting me to get some more plate stands for the studio. The plate I painted last week, I did use the liners as well, was ready, and it really has turned out very well and vibrant.
I haven't been to the bottom end of town for quite a while, managed to get some re-cycled Christmas paper at the Oxfam charity shop. I had several stops on the way through the town, ending up at Rymans which is near the bus stop. Watched 'Moving On', which is a good little batch of short dramas. Tina came home and came up to a cup of tea. She bought me these two great little bead birds, they were made in Chad and being sold at the cafe she had a meeting at this morning.
I have started to knit a little penguin, if successful I will post a picture when it is done.
Lots of shopping and a bit of nattering sounds like a good way to spend a bit of time. I love the plate! So colourful. I hope you're going to use it as opposed to displaying it. I know it would display very well, but I think it would also be a lovely one to serve up sarnies, cakes or biscuits on.
ReplyDeleteThe little birds are cute. Are they for the Christmas tree?
I do love the plate and as you say, will be nice to serve biscuits on it. Tina thought the birds would be good for my tree and I think they will be perfect.
