I had a couple of packages to send off so caught the bus into town again. I got some paints for the plaques in Wilko's and Darren wanted some butane gas. I could remember which street the old fashioned tobacconist was on so went down Huntriss, interesting shops but not the one I was looking for. I took a picture of the bay from the beginning of Bar Street which I was going to walk back along.
The tobacconist was along Bar Street, lots of other interesting little independent shops along there too. Back in the town centre there was one of the living statues, haven't seen this coloured outfit before.
I caught the bus home, had a short rest then went down to plant up some plants that arrived yesterday. Charlie was content in the kennel, good to see him using it now.
I ordered two variegated holly bushes and a tamarix. The tamarix is just sticks at the moment but I think the holly bushes will be stunning.
Darren made me a drink while I was downstairs and I went in the dining room to finish it rather that carry it upstairs. A while ago Darren got a box of retro games at the auction house. I sat and had a go at this logic game, run on batteries and a sort of Mastermind game (the board game not the tv quiz.)
Quite complex for an electronic game probably made in the 70's. I worked out one set of numbers and their sequence but gave up on the second attempt! May do some painting tonight if I can muster the enthusiasm.
The sky in the first photo reminds me of an upside down landscape picture of mountains! Think I'm weird!
ReplyDeleteHope you have more luck with the new tamarix than you did with the old one. Poor old thing did suffer a lot accidents.
Charlie looks really comfy in that kennel. It looks dry and warm. Perfect for this time of year. Didn't think it was going to get used when you first got it.
I remember having one of the electronic versions of the Mastermind game. In fact I built a version of it from Practical Electronics before they brought it out. That's going back a LOT of years now!
Can see what you mean about the sky, hadn't seen that one!
ReplyDeleteYes, cats at one house and a flying shed this one, lets hope this one doesn't catch the jinx!
It is a good little game, pretty advanced for the time I think.
