It has been a good day, catching up with the family and have played some games and chatted. Before she went to school Kate helped me pick which page to colour in the adult book they had bought me. Each page has a positive saying on. It came with five double ended crayons but Kate sorted me out a whole lot more.
Kate is learning the violin now so gave me a bit of a recital.
When the children had all gone off to school and Lee was out for a run I finished colouring the page that Kate had picked.
Lee collected Mark from school early as he had an eye appointment, we chatted in the lounge for a bit before lunch.
Was facing the light a bit there, will get a better shot of him before I leave! I went with them to the appointment, but waited in the car park, parked opposite a pretty lake.
This tree looked sparkly in the sunlight.
There was a heron wading and hunting at the edge of the lake, took lots of pictures through the car window, I was well occupied watching it, have never seen one so close for so long.
I did get out briefly and managed to get a clearer shot.
After they returned we went to a fabric and furniture shop to get some material as I am going to cover the ottoman for them while I am here.
This evening we have been doing some baking for the Thanksgiving day celebrations.
Rebecca is a real young lady now.
They have this patchwork pumpkin on one of the tables, definitely something for me to try some time.
A good start to your holiday. It looks like you'll keep occupied while you're there, which is exactly how you like it. Love the pic of the heron you took from outside the car. The water reflections look great.
ReplyDeleteI assume that's the ottoman leaning against the wall? It's a bit bigger than I expected if it is, but then it is America, so I should have guessed it'd be bigger. Quite a job to recover, so I'll look forward to seeing the final result.
The patchwork pumpkin reminds me of the fold down pyramid that I think Tina made for you.....could be wrong, you know what my memory is like! Does it open up the same? Several photos and another idea coming home with you :-)
The children are so grown up now. Time flies by so quickly.
Keep having fun.
That pumpkin is just decoration so doesn't opem, but I can see why it reminds you of the pyramid that Tina made, I do still have that. Yes, the ottoman is very big and it will be quite a challenge but I will give it my best shot as the family are all very keen to have it back in the tv room - no pressure then!
DeleteYou thrive on pressure, which is lucky considering the problems you've encountered getting there :-)
DeleteMmm, time will tell!!
