I stayed up late to watch the film about Mandela last night, really good, but it made it a late night and I read a chapter of my book before settling down. Didn't rush to get up this morning, got some washing done, and then make a flask and went over to the park with my book again. I had hoped the island might be open, but sadly not. Took a picture of the lake from a slightly different angle.
A beautiful day but not quite as warm as Thursday. When the island is closed the seagulls gather on the bridge.
The angle of the sun made it look like the lights round the lake were on!

Took this tree shot as I neared the glen.
These pigeons appeared to be sunbathing!
We had a lot of rain yesterday and the night before, the lake level was high and had spilled over in places. I meant the water in the glen was high too and the mini waterfalls more obvious.
The water beyond the trees as I made my way back was glistening, the photo doesn't really do it justice.
I had a drink from the flask while I read for a bit, but was feeling chilled so finished if off when I got home. My pain levels have been higher today, don't really know why, but not a good day on that front. Watched the Strictly result show, loved the Remembrance day dance and pleased that Greg got through to next week. The plumber is coming to see what the problem in the loft is tomorrow morning, not sure if he will be fixing it, but at least something is being done before the ceiling decides to cave in!

  1. It's a lovely place to visit, even on a chilly day, and always good for some nice photos. Does the island only open on certain says this time of year, or is it just pot luck whether it is or not? It's not easy to catch the effect of the water glistening. If your camera will take screw on filters, which some do, then you could add a starburst filter.
Let's hope the plumber doesn't fall through the ceiling :-)

    1. Don't think I can use screw on filters, will just have to concentrate on finding other subjects. I think it is a real visitor attraction, quite a special park really.
