Firstly I will add the photo of the new sign to go outside the church which I forgot to post yesterday.
I was feeling a bit better today, not right but getting there. Had a quick trip with Tina to the shops before making my way over to Birnam Arts for the tutored life drawing workshop. About a dozen of us I think. First of all the tutor got us to put the pencil on the paper and not look at what we were doing but to draw the movements she was making with a ball in her hand. Quite difficult to not look down but it was interesting. Then we had to do thirty second sketches! Yes, so:the images are very feint. Then we spent a lot of time measuring at arms length and marking places on the paper for the sketch which wa bout twenty minutes. Then to finish we did some thing completely different, the model, Dave, stood in front of a black sheet and we had to draw the shape of the black area.It was an enjoyable session and I will try to get a place on the next one in a months time.I bought the drawings home and then went to have a look round the market in the grounds of the Birnam hotel.
Then I spotted that the art gallery was open so went and had a cuppa there and a chat to the owner. She said it has been closed this year but hopes to be open regularly now. She does do workshops or said that I could take my own stuff to do if I wanted. So that may be good.I had a message to syzygy my prescription was ready so I walked into Dunkeld. Took a couple of quite different photos.

Nice sign for the church. Tina should have her name in lights at the bottom really ๐
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you’re feeling a bit better. Hopefully the awful tummy bug has gone away now.
Quite a few for those art workshop then. They’re an artistic bunch up there. Definitely some different teaching ideas. Never heard of the follow the ball and don’t look at the paper one, and how anyone can draw anything in thirty seconds beats me, let alone have something at the end of it that resembles real life ๐ The final one with the black background is really different too. It’s a good exercise though and not as easy as it sounds. You definitely appear to have a human cutout there. Not sure what I would have ended up with.
It looks a nice day up there. It’s not been as nice down this way today.
More workshops to go to at the art centre. They do seem plentiful in that neck of the woods.
I love the last two pics, they’re beautiful. A lovely way to end the blog ๐
It is good to be feeling better and it has been an interesting day.
ReplyDeleteI will do along to the next life drawing class, they are going to be once a month.
That was the last time the market will be here this year, hopefully they will start again in the spring.
It was a lovely afternoon here so lovely for a walk.
The very quick sketches were a real challenge!
