Bargain day

This morning after the shopping had been delivered I got my rusty trolley and loaded the two boxes still in the hall onto it and wheeled them across to the charity shop. Dropped the trolley back to the house then went to Boyes to get some stronger interfacing for the flower material. The young girl at the counter didn’t know what I was talking about but I did find some eventually! Darren texted to say that the Pound Stretcher shop had a clearance sale so Tina took me up to Freeport before she went out for the afternoon. The Pound Stretcher had a 50% off everything sale so I stocked up on some regular buys and got a couple of nice glass jars and an extension lead with switches so that I can turn things off without unplugging them!
This was a new planted bed at Freeport, lots of new signs too, they are trying to attract more custom.
I sat out in the garden for a while to see if I could catch a bird in the cage. There were some birds about and I took the camera out, but whether it was the light or me not holding it well, but not great pics but will post them anyway.

The beds are beginning to look pretty, nice to sit and look around the garden.
I prepared some veggies for tomorrows dinner after we had eaten and this evening I have attached some more stiffener to the flowers and have cut some out.
Hopefully going to Burton Constable with Darren tomorrow.

  1. Should that have said “my trusty trolley” or did you mean rusty? 😊 Either way it’s easier than carrying stuff over there. A 50% off everything sale is definitely one not to be missed. You really are getting to be energy conscious these days. I have to say it is easier just to switch things off rather than unplug them. So it does encourage you to do it. I think a lot of people are going to start being a bit more careful with the energy they use. It’s a good thing.
Glad you got out for a bit of time in the garden without doing any gardening 😊 It does look really nice out there. Looks like the new bird feeder is getting used. Are the gulls giving up now?
It should be a lovely day to go to Burton Constable tomorrow. You should be in for some good pics.

It was good to get to a genuine clearance sale.
Nice to be outside and see a few small garden birds.
