This morning I got up early, made a flask and set off to The Royal to start using my membership. I was there for 7 am, a little ahead of the member of staff so had to wait a few minutes with one other lady. It had taken me about twenty minutes to walk there and it was raining, so I was pretty keen to see what it was like! We were the only two in the pool, so although it is not big it was fine, warm and inviting. I spent over half an hour, mostly walking in the water but also trying to do breast stroke with crawl legs! Nice shower and changing area, so all in all very enjoyable. I sat on a bench, even though is was still drizzling and had my coffee. A bit tired walking home, but took my time. Took some wet flower pictures!!
That fly was really tiny! Got changed and sorted when I got in as Sandy was picking me up to go to the studio. The clay items I made have now had their bisque firing so I had plenty to be getting on with.
I was going out to lunch with Joanne who used to cut my hair, and seeing little Theodore who is now a year old, but I managed to get Nessie painted before I went out with her.
We went to Betton farm for lunch, I had a really lovely ham salad, very reasonable price too. No photos as sadly Theodore was not feeling well and was quite fractious. I was back at the studio in time for Potty Pensioners. I painted the hedgehog family,
ans another one of the bowl set.
I regularly get after auction emails for items that have been left with them and you can make an offer. I have seen quite a few things I have liked but have never made an offer until last night. I made an offer on a couple of plant stands and it was accepted. Hopefully Darren will take me to collect them tomorrow and I will post a picture then.
After a mega early start I'm pleased to hear you like the pool at the Royal. Hopefully you'll get some good use from it, and the gym.
ReplyDeleteThe fuscias with the water droplets look great. Even if it hasn't rained, some people spray them with cooking oil to give the same effect. Funnily enough it looks more realistic than using water.
I think Nessie looks absolutely great! Such a difference with paint on it. Can't wait to see that fired. The bowl is perfect colours for chocolate sponge and custard :-)
I am sure I won't always find it quite so quiet, but I will know my way around which will be good.
ReplyDeleteNever heard that about cooking oil before, sounds messy!
I am looking forward to seeing Nessie fired as well.
