Just one sunset picture to start.
Mike had told me that I should be able to file the pyrography tips down so I sorted out my fine files (left over from when I made Isobel a dolls' house, and set to work on one. Then I tried it on another blank and it is quite fine.
This morning I walked up to the pool and had my last swim at the pool as it closes on Sunday. Had a cup of tea with Tina when I got back and she said she would take me out to get a map at the library and then we could have lunch. We went to check out where the new pool is, seems like a very long and hilly mile and a half away! Then she stopped outside the library and I got a new Scarborough street map. We had a very nice, healthy lunch on Oliver's Mount and then stopped at The Mere and bought bird food for the geese.

Lots of babies,, we got through quite a few bags of food! The one feeding from Tina's hand was very gentle and quite a character.
Tina dropped me off at the studio, Donna is on her own on a Friday now. I have a bowl I use at home which I really like so have bought 5 more so that I can make a set up.
I walked home and will be getting ready soon to go and see Legally Blond at the YMCA with Sandy.

  1. Love the colours and layers in the first photo. Sometimes I don't think we live on the same planet!
The pyrography came out really well with the thinned down tip. Glad it worked for you, and saved you having to buy another whole set to get a thinner one. I also know you now have some better quality wood, so all this practice should pay off.
Those birds must get fed by so many people. You'd think they'd be big fat things. They always rush to the food though! The babies are really cute.
Like the bowl. Four more will keep you occupied for a few visits to the studio.

  2. That was a nicely textured sky last night. I will put my thinking hat on for the bigger and better wood.
Te geese were attacking each other, quite aggressively protecting their babies.
