Just one sunset picture from last night.
Mike has suggested that I do a pyrography picture of the castle a couple of times now, so as my new, larger pieces of birch wood arrived, thought I would give it a go. This wood is about place mat size.
This morning was grey and wet, has been dull with showers on and off most of the day. I went to the doctors to get the x-ray results. No surprises that she said there is significant arthritic damage at the front and side but also behind my knee. I think her phrase was 'Your knee is not in good shape'. But for now, to allow more time for the ankle to recover I am going to have a cortisone injection next week and she will make a referral back to physio for me. She did weigh me and was really pleased that I had lost enough to only be about half a kilo away from being able to be referred to a specialist if all else fails. I told her that I do breast stroke when swimming, and she told me I shouldn't be doing it as it is not good for knees or hips. I did know that, but it is the only stroke I can do! She said I should be power walking in the pool if I wouldn't be bumping into people! After thinking about it I thought it might be wise to check out the pool at a hotel in town.
I caught a but into town, did a bit of shopping and then made my way to The Royal hotel. The girl was really helpful, and said the pool is usually pretty quiet during the day, so I have signed on the dotted line and we will see how it goes. No contract, so just a months notice if it doesn't work out.
It was raining and grey. went across and took a picture of a very different looking bay.
This afternoon I did another coaster with the pyrography pen, using one of the pattern tips around the edge.
Spending some time at the studio tomorrow and having lunch with the lass that used to cut my hair and seeing little Theodore again who was a year old last week.

  1. The castle looks good as a pyrograph. Is that a word? I knew it would that's why I suggested it. Are you going to varnish it or leave it as it is?
Don't think they told you much about your knee that you've not known for over ten years, but the cortisone injection might prove good. Fingers crossed. I think you'll get on better in the hotel pool. Hopefully you'll find quiet times so you can make some good use of it, and you can always stay for afternoon tea afterwards!
The coaster reminds me of footballs and barbed wire.

  2. I thought that tip looked like footballs too, does look like barbed wire as well! I am looking forward to giving the pool a visit, definitely worth a try. Might varnish the castle.

  3. It was lovely to talk earlier, your castle picture looks good I think the varnish will make it stand out. How nice to be meeting up with the lady who cut your hair, how time passes if the child is a year already. I'm sure you have done the right thing about the pool, Good Luck. Congratulations with the weight loss. Xx
