This morning I went out just after seven to go to The Royal again. No staff on but at one point there were five of us in the pool. All a similar age and the other ladies were chatting so I was able to carry on with the walking. When it was just two of us I started practicing breast stroke with crawl legs and when I had it to myself for a few minutes I floated and did back stroke so plenty of kicking then! I didn't take a flask today, stopped at a little cafe on the way back. Had mushrooms and egg on toast and a cup of tea, very reasonable and tasty. It was raining when I set off but it was and is still very windy. The lovely foxgloves I took the pictures of ended up lying on the floor!
Darren took me to collect the two plant stands and we went to Sainsbury's afterwards to get a bit of shopping and of course we had a drink. The metal stank needs a wire brush taking to it and then painting but it is a good substantial piece and will look good when done.
I will leave it outside for now until I get the equipment I need and of course paint. The wooden stand does need some tender loving care, but it is a good solid stand, will easily cope with a heavy plant.
I did wipe it down and have done one coat of polish to see how it comes up. Pretty good so far.
The sun is out now, first time for a couple of days, but it is still very windy. We are going in Darren's car tonight as Tina has bought some furniture that we will be bringing home.
Blue looks asleep sat on that wall. A nice looking cat.
ReplyDeleteGlad the swim went well again. I'm sure you'll get times when it's a bit too crowded, but hopefully not too often. Are you going to try the gym out?
The plant stands look nice. The metal one will clean up well, and should look really good when painted. The wooden one does look very sturdy, and it's amazing the difference one coat of polish makes. After a couple more it'll gleam.
Enjoy yourself with the monks......well not literally :-)
A good visit, home now and quite tired. Bought a spider plant today which is on the wooden stand.
