Not a great deal to report today. The show yesterday, Legally Blonde, was really good. I walked up there to meet Sandy and Patsy, didn't know she was coming but I have met her before  a couple of times. We had a severely disabled man at the end of the row, so we had difficulty getting to out seats, and then I must have sat awkwardly because for the first half, over an hour, my near was very painful and there was not enough room for me to get it into a comfortable position. I may have moved if it would have been easy to get out of the row. At the interval I told the others I would go home as I couldn't possibly have the pain for the rest of the show. Luckily there were unsold seats at the back and we were allowed to sit there, and I could stretch my leg into an aisle. Patsy gave me a lift home and I watched The Last Leg with Darren and Tina, which was funny as usual.
This morning my knee and ankle were sore, but I caught a bus into town, sent off a package for Darren and then walked up to Sainsbury's. I had taken the trolley with me. I told Tina I would get food in for our meals at the weekend, lots of veg and salad as Darren is away and I have weigh in at the doctors on Monday!
Although a bit sore I decide to walk back home as planned. Did have a couple of rest stops. I haven't walked on Victoria Road for ages, probably more than a year so took a couple of pics of things I see when we drive down there. The mill, where Brian and Hazel stayed on a visit up here.
And this shop sign which always makes me smile. It seems to be closed now so maybe they have run out of new and used babies!!
Tina and I have watched the tennis, Andy Murray eventually winning. I have started sorting out the pattern pieces and getting ready to make the bag for Isobel.
Our tea of grilled chicken, minted new potatoes and salad was very tasty, and healthy!
I had planned to try walking to the site of the new swimming pool tomorrow to see how long it takes me and get the route into my head, but the knee will need to be feeling considerably better than it does now.

  1. The theatre trip sounds like it was fun! Glad you managed to get to another seat though and didn't miss the second half of the show.
Darren will be so upset that he's missed all the salad and veg :-) In fact I wish all I'd had today was salad and veg, but you know all about that little tale! I've got a real urge for minted new potatoes now too :-) Maybe tomorrow for my tea.
I love the windmill. I always wanted to live in a windmill, bet it would be lovely.
Take it easy tomorrow if you do decided to reconnoiter the swimming pool.

  4. The pool actually opens tomorrow, I was seeing if I could manage getting there. It took me just under 40 minutes to walk there, and that was without having a rucksack with swimming gear in. I was exhausted by the time I had walked home and my ankle is quite sore now, so Maybe I won't be swimming anymore! I do still have the books, will check out some of the ideas. xxx
