Tina bought some stands for decorations, she also bought me the two beaded birds a while ago and I got some peacock decorations at Sainsbury's on offer. I am not putting my tree up this year as it would be too much of a temptation for Blue. So I have displayed them on the stand.
We got the car loaded up this morning and set off for Peterborough at about 9 am. We had a leisurely drive down, it was foggy but the traffic wasn't too bad.I took a picture from the car on the bridge.
The weather begun to change and the sky was suddenly half and half, something I had never seen before.
We had a couple of stops and got to the hotel at about 1.30 pm. The room was ready so we got unpacked and the went over and had a browse at the shops over the way. Then we set off to see Emmie at The Spinney. It seemed strange going there and not seeing Ruby, but it was good to see Emmie and I took her a piece of Christmas cake. Then we went across to Mike's took him out for a coffee and then the three of us went to Ibranhimi's for dinner. It was very busy and we only got in because we were early as they were fully booked later. A nice, unrushed day and we are settled in the hotel with tea and tv now!
Hadn't thought about Christmas trees and cats, but I bet they'll have fun with those peacocks too. Good luck with that!
ReplyDeleteThe sky in that picture does look strange, a definite half and half. Not seen that before either.
It was good to see you both this afternoon/evening, and the trip to Ibrihimis was good as usual. They really do do some great food, and they're such nice people as well. It's a great place, and it was nice to see them very busy. Doubt I'm the first to test this years batch of Christmas cakes, but I can confirm they're bloody good! Only one slice tested as of yet, but the night is young :-)
This wifi will drive me to distraction! Will try and reply again!! Yes, good to see you and a great meal, lovely staff and good food. I hope the cake lasts until Christmas!!
