I had a pretty good night's sleep and didn't get up early. I caught the bus to town at 10.42 am. I wanted to post a couple of birthday cards and also go to the sewing centre to get some batik background fabric to go with the fabric I bought in America. I had a pack of twenty batik fat quarters and needed fifteen for the quilt I am going to make. I bought grey background material and have sorted out the fifteen pieces I am going to use.
After I had done those two errands I took a slow walk up to Sainsbury's as I needed to get some shopping in. On Remembrance Sunday Tina had taken a service in town and had told me about the quite large crosses that were placed there. I walked by today and took a picture as it is quite a striking sight.
I had some lunch when I got to Sainsbury's and then did my shopping. I phoned for a taxi home which came very quickly and the guy carried the bags to the door for me. I am aching quite a lot today so have done some catching up with tv programs. But did get my new colourful gecko put up in the bathroom with the others!
An evening of tv tonight, really looking forward to Strictly.
Some nice colours and patterns there. I look forward to seeing the finished article. Tomorrow night? :-)
ReplyDeleteThe new gecko looks good in there. Still room for a few more though.
Love the pic of the circle of crosses, as you say a nice striking light. How many did you end up taking while over the pond? Several hundred I'm guessing. Any special ones you particularly like?
Strictly was good, as usual, but who goes next. Got to be the judge really. Shame that anyone has to go reall as they've all progressed a lot since they started.
I don't intend starting the quilt until Christmas cards are written and cakes decorated. Nice to get the background material, but I need to practice with the triangle cutting too. It will keep now until I can really concentrate on it. The semi final and final of Strictly this year should be really spectacular.
DeleteAww your bathroom looks wonderful, well done. What a shame about your lady, an excellent age tho. She is at peace. I do hope your pains improve quickly, I expect some are from the journey back from holiday. Take it easy this week very frosty here and easy to slip so go careful. I'm leaving it u til much later to venture out misty as well. Xx
ReplyDeleteA bit of frost here but clear and bright. Will catch the bus to town but won't be doing too much. xx
