This morning I was going to take the bus into town as I am still hoping to buy some holly and I had another package to send to a friend who I thought I was going to see. Unfortunately she cannot meet up with me now. I got off the bus at Castle Road so that I could walk along Thomas Street and call in the florist along there. It was closed! I made my way into town and walked down Huntriss Row to the florist at the far end, they didn't have any holly for sale! I was nearly at the south bay then so wandered down and took a picture.
Walking back I took a picture of The Grand from a different angle. It truly was a grand building in it's day, still pretty impressive today.
Made my way up to the post office, a pretty long queue and I was beginning to feel overheated as I had my heavy winter coat on and it was actually quite mild today. Called in a couple more shops and then got the bus home, they have started putting double deckers on our route this week, I suppose because it is nearing Christmas. I felt shattered when I got home and my foot was pretty sore but I think it is still recovering from the run in with a trolley yesterday. There is a new series of The Doctor Blake Mysteries on BBC 1 this week, and I have missed a couple of episodes so watched them this afternoon. I also finished writing my Christmas cards and then went down to post them. I cooked tea, with difficulty, because with the oven on as high as it would go nothing was cooking, so had to resort to the small oven, which wasn't a lot better and frying pans!! I have a cat bed outside my lounge door as I have said before, usually Blue uses it, yesterday Colonel was on there, and today, both of them together.
We call Blue the 'little one' but that is not strictly true anymore. Talking of Strictly it was a great show tonight and didn't Ore do well?
It has been quite nice today. Well it was this morning in Skeggy and Boston. Like a summer day at one point with the sun shining. I had to undo my coat! Poured down here this afternoon though, but as I was home by then it didn't matter. At least you got out, and managed a few jobs and got a few pics.
ReplyDeleteJust watch you don't fall over those cats in that narrow hallway! That'll be all you need!
Will do my best to avoid them! Glad you had a good trip.
