This morning Tina suggested we went for breakfast at Sainsbury's as she has caught a cold from Darren and was out of medication! We did a bit of shopping as well, mostly sensible but I did buy one completely unnecessary and somewhat frivolous item, a Christmas pudding that spins to Jingle bell Rock!
Very silly, haven't tested it on Blue yet, Colonel completely ignored it! I got Tina to drop me off at the studio, saw Sandy and gave her the update on the ankle situation. I have paid for a large elf ornament which I will probably paint in the new year and give it to someone next Christmas. I walked into town from there, had a few bits to get and then caught a but home. Watched a Doctor Blake but have spent a lot of the afternoon decorating the cakes. The coated holly leaves didn't work, but I had made other decorations. Used some ready mixed tubes to do the writing.
One of course is icing free and apart from the writing has marzipan decoration only.
Having a preview look won't tell you what it tastes like Mike! I managed without the stick when walking around this morning but the standing this afternoon has made the knee ache, so not planning to do much more this evening. Just one more picture, Darren and Tina brought back these towels and lavender bag for me from Portugal. They are hand embroidered locally and I will keep them until we move I think as they are lovely.

  1. The rocking Christmas pud looks quite funny, and it's good to be frivolous occasionally.
The cakes look great, and mine in particular looks fantastic! Not many people have a yellow Christmas cake. Bet it tastes good. Not very now to find out.
The towels are a very nice gift, I really like those. They'll look good in a new bathroom.

  2. Like you say, unusual and not long now before you have it yourself, I wonder if it will stay uncut until Christmas! I will be glad for them to reach their new destinations now, I have seen quite enough of them! The towels are lovely, soft and fluffy too.

  3. Well the idea is to leave it until at least Christmas Eve....but your guess is as good as to mine as to whether I'll achieve that goal!

  5. Cakes look lovely, bet they taste even better. How kind of Darren and Tina to get such a useful gift, lovel good quality towels after a shower or bath.
The Christmas pud looks interesting, where do you store all these afterwards?
Such a wonderful day for your walk, well done for getting out. Got to make the most of these days when they come as so many murky ones this week. Xx

    1. Yes, a very lovely and useful gift. I have some Christmas bits under one of the sink units, it will soon be time to start getting rid of stuff again in readiness for the move. Best get started before the surgery as I will be out of sensible action for a while afterwards. x
