Travelling home.

This morning Rachel took me across to Eye wher we spent over an hour with Emmie who was 98 a couple of weeks ago. Then we went to Van Hage and had some lunch. Got packed up when we got back to her house and then walked up to Morrison’s to meet Mike and wait for Darren. We had a great journey home, the trees are becoming autumnal  skies were lovely. I will go a group of pictures again, all but one taken while we were on the move. Darren did pull a lay-by to let me take a sunset picture. We stopped for a nice meal at Meat Inc, very tasty although we did have to wait for quite a while.

Weather looks set fair for Mike’s visit.

Moon and space craft

It has been a cold and wet day but very enjoyable. I will write about it first and then just add all the photos. I met with my friend Angie for breakfast and then went and saw Isobel swimming, she has improved so much since ai last saw her in the pool. Then we walked into the city and went to th cathedral to see Tim Peakes space craft and the moon. Isobel’s swimming friends came along too. After that we went to a couple of shops and then off to get some lunch. I went back home with Anya and Isobel for a bit and then back to Rachel’s. We have enjoyed Strictly and watched, but didn’t particularly enjoy Casualty! Now the pics.

(Backup) Taking the train

Another short entry this evening. I left home early to get into Hull, had over an hour before the first train so had a wander round the city.  Then I took some photos, didn’t seem out of place as there were plenty of train spotters around.

There was a delay at Doncaster but I arrived in Peterbough just a little late and met up with Rachel as planned. We had lunch and then she drove me over to see my sister. We had a good catch up and a game of Scrabble and then Anya came to collect me to take me to Rachel’s. The Virginia creeper in th car park there was gorgeous.

A quiet evening with Rachel and family, Cookie was pleased to see me!

Time for bed it has been a long day.

Team work!

Not a big entry today, Tina and I worked in the garden getting the area ready for the summer house, they are coming to do the base on Monday.

After that we stamped it down arm in arm like Russian soldiers, if the neighbours were watching that will think we have finally lost the plot completely !

The only other picture today was of another bunch of fungi.

We went to the garden centre and had lunch there, I had thought about getting some apprentice tools but on second thoughts today they were too small.

We also did a bit of shopping. Since home I have been sorting my stuff out for the trip tomorrow and have done some hoeing and watering in th garden.

Busy non photo day!

This morning I set about household chores, a big house so have to get in the mood!

After lunch I caught the bus up to Freeport as I was feeling a bit tired and lazy! Mags and Abi were on today and we had a laugh as usual and Insaw some of Abi’s wedding pics. I had taken my sketch book with me and sat at the table and did today’s sketch while I was there.

I did walk home but called in at the Gift shop before setting off. I went in to look at fairy houses but spotted a Santa dressed in white. I had wanted one at the garden centre but they had sold out, I did check again yesterday. This one is gorgeous and a lot cheaper, so I was pleased I called in.

Didn’t see any pheasants today but Tina said she saw the three mails in the church yard. We are working in the garden together tomorrow to prepare the area for the summer house.

Pheasants come a calling!

This morning two pheasants appeared on the lawn, not a great photo as it was through the windows.

June the volunteer came this morning, she worked in the front garden, I worked in the back stopping every nw and again to make drinks. The pheasants came back for a while, mostly in shaded areas and I didn’t want to get too close and spook them.

I struggled a bit with the bed today, a lot of stumps and roots.

While I was packing away I could hear th pjqsqnts calling and then I couldn’t believe my eyes!

Seven altogether, I hope they become regular visitors and the cats don’t take a fancy to them!

I caught the bus to the garden centre at Sigglesthorne, wanted another kneeling pad for when I start putting the bulbs in. Liked the sky as I waited for th bus to come home.

Did do a sketch of an ornament last night and one of a piece of tree root today.

Fabulous sea

This morning the fairy house was dry so it is now back outside in the garden.

I had a wander round the garden, the hollyhocks that I grew from seed this year love wher they are in the garden and are absolutely gorgeous growing through the dead tree.

I had some packages to post and also a letter to deliver for Tina so went to the post office and then walked along the sea front. Fabulously lively sea today and great glistening water. Took loads of pics and will post a few.

The sun went behind a cloud so a sky picture too!

This afternoon I got back out int the garden to work on a bed near the fence at the side of the house. Lots of white roots and also had to get the saw out as there were roots that went under the grass. Always some different challenges.

I have cleared away and done the watering, no sketch yet but I have time!
