This morning I wrote a couple of letters, a load of washing and a little bit of jigsaw. Then I had about an hour in the garden and cleared some more of the bed. After lunch I thought I would do for a walk, I was getting ready when the doorbell went and it was some flowers from Darren and Tina. An early birthday gift as they know I will be away for some of the weekend. I got them into a vase before going out.
I did get ready for my walk the and had decided to go to the underpass that leads to the station. I went there with Tina a few weeks ago as she didn’t know where the station was. There was a path going away from the underpass and thought I would see where it went. That was the plan but when I got there the footpath was closed for repairs. I took a couple of pictures before deciding to walk a way up a narrow road, about wide enough for a car, but not very busy! That way was under the A9. I didn’t have to walk very far on the road before getting to a gate onto a path. I was so pleased I went on the road as I then had the most amazing walk going up the hill alongside the river. I kept stopping to take photos as you will see. I did take the walking poles which was good as the path was quite rocky and quite wet and muddy in a few places.I decided to turn round after that one as the path was still going up. Two pics on the way back, the plateau from the other direction, was tempting to go in! And the tree trunk I had a rest on!
I heard about the ring I designed as well today. It is definitely going to be made with a slight adaption.
Sitting now getting numb feet as the cat is sprawled down my legs!

You’re doing well sticking to doing a little bit of garden at a time. It must be tempting occasionally to just want to do a little bit more though. At least you don’t slog away out there for hours on end like you used too!
ReplyDeleteThat’s a nice bunch of flowers. I’m sure you’ll end up with more at the weekend.
Isn’t it strange how you set off to do one thing and end up having to change but only for the better. You could have easily missed that if you had decided not to take your chances on the narrow road. Good job you did as you found a beautiful place. Walking alongside the running water must have been lovely, even though it was uphill π Good job you got the walking poles. I’m not at all surprised you took loads of pics. It’s hard not to when it’s so nice. You really should have gone for a paddle in the plateau section. That looks particularly nice and very clear water. I really envy you with that walk. A lovely way to spend a bit of time, and I’m sure it won’t be the last time you do it π
Great news about the ring too. It’ll be so nice to actually see it in a physical form after all the years it’s been on paper π
You are allowed to move the cat occasionally you know π Numb feet and legs are not a good idea. And they say cats don’t rule the world…….well not yet anyway!
Yes it was one of those happy occurrences where you take a different path and find a treasure. I will certainly be walking that way again and maybe go up a bit further, it has to go down eventually!
ReplyDeleteI think I may be doing it with Tina sometime too.
The other path was open again when I came back down, I will still go along it but it is not near the river So may not be that exciting.
I am pleased a version of my ring will get made, better late than never!
